The Truth, please!

THE TRUTH, PLEASE!

 

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17)

 

AS THE MOTHER of two young children, I am frustrated by the lack of clear direction for child rearing. I read one article and get one expert's opinion on potty training or discipline, and then I read a different opinion from another source. There are as many views on parenting as there are parents! I long to know the right way—the truth—because I want to be a good mom.

How wonderful that we don't need to struggle that way in our relationship with God! In our weakness we could never reach up to God, but He reached down to us when He entered this world as a baby. When we read about Jesus in the Bible, we see truth in living form. He is the Truth, and all we need for living a godly life lives in Him and is available to us because of His death and resurrection.

Unfortunately, there is no definitive guidebook for parenting! I am left to sift through the available information and choose what seems best. Most of the time, this approach turns out just fine. My eternal future, however, is in the hands of Jesus. What peace to know with certainty that I have made the right choice, that I walk each day in the truth of Christ.
