GOOD MEMORIES
Bear with each other and forgive…as the Lord forgave. (Colossians 3:13)
Good memories often surface when we open a photo album, play a video, or review the images stored on a computer's hard drive. The people or places pictured have probably directly or indirectly influenced our lives. Some look to the past and remember the good times, while others remember the painful. Remembering and reviewing wrongs is emotionally and spiritually harmful to one who is seeking God's best.
Forgiven by Christ, Sprit-led people choose to both remember and to forgive. First, they choose to remember that Christ freely and fully forgave them. In the
Spirit-led people also remember to forgive. They make a decided effort to reconcile the wrongs of their past in return for the hopes of their future. To them nothing is as important as an unhindered relationship with their Master.
Based on their desire to be like Christ, they have made the choice to surrender their past. They also have decided to emotionally free those who have burdened them by words or actions, by forgiving them.
