데살로니가전서 4:3-8

3. 하나님께서는 여러분이 성적인 모든 죄를 피하고 거룩하고 순결하게 살기를 원하십니다.

It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 

 

4. 자신의 몸을 거룩하고 존귀하게 사용하십시오. 육체의 정욕에 따라 여러분의 몸을 사용하지 마십시오.

that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable,

 

5. 그것은 하나님을 모르는 사람들이나 짓는 죄입니다.

not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God;

 

6. 이런 죄를 지어서 여러분의 형제를 속이거나 그에게 해를 입히지 않도록 하십시오. 우리 주님은 그런 사람을 반드시 벌하십니다. 이 부분에 대해서는 예전에도 여러분에게 경고하였습니다.

and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you.

 

7. 하나님께서는 거룩하게 살아가도록 우리를 불러 주셨으며, 우리가 죄 가운에 사는 것을 원하지 않으십니다.

For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.

 

8. 그러므로 이 가르침에 따라 살기를 거북하는 것은 사람의 명령을 거스르는 것이 아니라 우리에게 성령을 주신 하나님의 명령을 거스르는 것입니다.
Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man got God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

 

 

MY HUSBAND AND I were at a professional basketball game, and the fans were fired up. Everyone was cheering, clapping, and shouting, hoping for a big win. Time out was called, and the lights dimmed. Suddenly, loud music was blasting and lights were flashing. Dancers appeared in formation at center court wearing tight costumes and began a bawdy routine. Most people continued munching popcorn or talking about the injustice of the last foul called by the ref; some leered at and cheered for the dancers. A big guy and a man's man, my husband covered his eyes and grimaced. "I feel like I shouldn't even be seeing this," he said, "and I'm a grown man. I can't believe they allowed this when so many kids are watching." Meanwhile, moms and dads clapped along with the music, sharing this performance with their children as though they were watching a family film. We wrote a letter to the team's general manager the next day, expressing our concern. Lewd entertainment is readily available in our society. Even those who do not seek it are occasionally surprised by an unexpected display in movie or television program. It isn't enough that we do not seek impure entertainments, we must work to protect ourselves from the assault Satan has launched to pollute our minds and ensnare our lives.
