"Spirit of Fear Exposed"

Scripture Text: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."  2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

Are you angry? Why? Are you fearful? Why? Are you depressed and feeling low? Why?

There are legitimate reasons for everyone of those feeling - especially in today's society . . . right? I mean, look at the infighting going on right now in the Senate and the House amongst our own sworn leaders. Leaders sworn to uphold the Constitution of The United States and yet so much of this health care crisis as well as so much other legislation this last year has been done behind closed doors - and been announced that this is how things are going to be from now on. It's enough to make anyone upset isn't it?

Well now wait a minute friend. This is Monday and you've got the whole week to go, so just calm yourself for a minute and listen to some good solid reason coming from the Lord.

"God has not given you the spirit of fear;"

That's what this is all about you know. God doesn't move in those venues of conflict - "can't" move in those venues of conflict because they're not from Him. They are not "of" Him, and He has nothing to do with them except to make them flee.

You see, God doesn't work in a spineless, cowardly mean-spirited way. He's God! He's not afraid of men or devils or what they will say or do, because He is God! He is not discouraged because the stock market is down and He's not upset because the wind is blowing nor is He ready to "give up" on the millions of people who are ready to give up on Him. You see, that's His function as the Heavenly Father. He loves you with an everlasting love and He wants to see you succeed in everything you lay your hand to - especially if you are one of His. But He can't work in you if you're living in fear and allowing the spirit of the enemy to get you down and cause you to want to give up because you know - there's just no use... you've tried it before and failed; why even try anymore. 

Let me tell you where that's coming from. Listen to His Word from 1 Peter 8, I've  used it a great deal because it is so applicable to what's really going on in our lives...

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" (KJV)

He goes on to say, "Whom resist stedfast in the faith," (vs 9)

And in that 10th verse He says that it is GOD that will make you perfect (mature), establish you and strengthen you, and even "settle you".

Now, there's nothing better than a spouse that is mature and strong and settled in their ways is there? There's nothing like a mom or a dad or a boss or even just a friend who is mature and strong and settled in their ways - is there?

Let's begin this day with a solid understanding that when you are fearful and depressed and feeling low, you are coping with a spirit that is part of that roaring lion crowd, and that spirit has only one goal in mind - to destroy you. STOP HIM! STOP HIM NOW! Just do this and do it out Loud! Say, "In The Name of Jesus I rebuke you devil! GET AWAY FROM ME NOW! He has to go! It's In The Word:

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7 (KJV)

Let's do it together shall we?

DEVIL OF FEAR (LACK, ANGER, DEPRESSION, SICKNESS - put whatever is coming against you right now in this area) I RESIST YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS, and BY HIS WORD YOU HAVE TO FLEE! GO! IN JESUS' NAME!

Now pray this prayer:

Father God: I come to you now in Jesus' Name, and I thank you for this word that you have brought to me this morning that no matter what is standing in my way, I can RESIST it in Jesus' Name, and by Your word He HAS TO GO! I stand on that word today, and bless Your Name. I choose to live and walk in the spirit today - in Jesus' Name, Amen.
