Service Please

 

Be dressed, ready for service.  —Luke 12:35

 

Jesus came to serve, not just to reign. He laid aside the scepter of royalty to take up the towel of service. Christian service is not only a way of showing your allegiance to the Servant Savior but also a valuable means of spiritual growth. Just as a river needs tributaries—outlets—to prevent stagnation, so the child of God needs an outlet of service to grow and to be like Christ. What are your abilities? How can you use those abilities in serving others? Your pastor will probably have a place where you make yourself useful to Christ and His church. So don’t just stand there, do something

 

Lord, help me to be like You in the way I treat others. I ask that You would give me a servant’s heart and open a place of service for me. Amen.
