Death's victory

 

오늘의 묵상 (고후4:13~15)

 

 

13. 성경에 "내가 믿었다. 그러므로 내가 말하였다"고 기록되어 있듯이, 우리도 동일한 믿음의 정신으로 믿고 말하는 것입니다.

 

14. 우리가 이렇게 말할 수 있는 것은, 주 예수님을 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살리신 하나님께서 예수님과 함께 우리도 살리셔서 여러분과 함께 하나님 앞에 서게 하실 것을 알기 때문입니다.

 

15. 이 모든 일은 다 여러분의 유익을 위한 것입니다. 그래서 하나님의 은혜가 점점 더 많은 사람들에게 이르러 감사가 넘치게 되고 그들은 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 될 것입니다.

 

 

 

 

 

DEATH'S VICTORY

 

 

We know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us. (2 Cor. 4:14)

 

ON HIS THIRD DAY in hospice, my husband's life was winding down. Pretending that all would be well was no longer an option. It was time to say goodbye, but I didn't know how. The day before I had told him that he was a wonderful husband and I had loved being his wife. “Thank you for telling me that,” he said in a weak voice.

 

As I struggled for the right words to put the finishing touch on our forty-year marriage, I remembered our conversations about heaven. “I'll introduce you to Mother,” he had often said.

 

Heaven. Yes, my final words to my husband should be about heaven, where we would next meet. “You're going to see Jesus,” I said. “And you'll see your brother and your mother. Tell her I'll be there to meet her soon.” He could no longer speak, but his eyes locked with mine.

 

The funeral was a time of celebration. Focusing on happy times of the past and an incredible future with God took the sting out of the sorrow of the present. Death does not end life; death is the beginning of eternal life.

삶과 죽음, 이것은 생활입니다. 멀리 있는 것이 아닙니다. 하나님 오늘 하루 주어진 시간이 나에게 있어서 마지막일 수 있습니다. 훗날 죽음 앞에 섰을 때 후회하지 않고 감사하게 하시고 천국을 소망하며 살게 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘
