"When The Shoe Doesn't Fit"

Scripture Text: "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Matthew 24:4,5 (KJV)

Friends, there is so much going in Prophecy these days - and there are a lot of people making claims with regard to Prophecy that just don't fit. Now what did your mama do when your shoes no longer fit you? Listen carefully to the answer  because it's important. When your shoes didn't fit... she'd "LINE YOU UP" with a pair that did.

Now, I'm sure there are a few of you out there who know someone in the family who even though their shoes fit - they'd always put them on the wrong feet. My Son who is now 30 - (of course you'd never catch him with his shoes on the wrong feet now), had a favorite pair of cowboy boots that he always wore on the wrong feet and when you would put them on the right feet he would cry to have them put on the wrong feet again because he'd gotten used to them that way.

I have a 3 year old grand daughter who cannot play outside unless she puts her shoes on the wrong feet. If you sneak it past her by putting them on the right feet, she will invariably sit down on the grass outside and change  them back to the way she feels most comfortable. It's wrong but it's comfortable... and you would have about a hundred grandmas right now say, "that's just alright... if they're more comfortable, what's the harm".

Well, there are a lot of people who are taking their diet of Prophecy in the same way. They either know it's "suspect" or not really sure about it at all, but it's what they're comfortable with.

When it comes to Prophecy and ANYTHING "Bible" related in this day and age, we need to learn to stick to the text. We need to have leaders and teachers and YES... PREACHERS, who are willing to do the digging necessary to make the  TRUTH come alive: to make it the MOST IMPORTANT part of their head-dress. (speaking of those spiritual "hats" they wear within the body of Christ)

Here's the BOTTOM LINE!!! There are people out there who are getting "stuck" when putting on the shoe of Prophecy. Their desire for "expressing themselves" has gotten in the way of Expressing Christ and many have even gone so far as to  speak on His behalf. Don't get me wrong, I believe the Lord needs your voice and my voice - all of our voices to get out the  WORD to a WORLD that needs to know of His Mercy and Pardon if they will come to Him. But there are those who for some reason or another - who so want for their voice to be a voice above all others... they speak WORDS that don't line up with The BIBLE and consequently don't fit the TRUTH regarding Prophecy.

In the day and age that we are living I believe that it is time to realize that the Garden, the Cross, the Resurrection and the Ascension were all part and parcel of Prophecy and it spells out a time when people are going to have to get their "feet  shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace." (ref., Ephesians 6:5) Now let me say very quickly that this doesn't just refer to that firm and solid knowledge of the Gospel, as it publishes "peace" by Jesus Christ, but it also refers to that sure foundation for the Christian soldier to set his foot upon, and to "stand fast" on; being to him, as the shoe is to the foot. It is that constant and firm "standing" of believers in the faith of the Gospel - so whether striving or contending for the faith, that foundation will not be removed from them, but will become a sure foundation always keeping the "Soul" (sole) grounded in the Lord: in other words..."fit" for the Master's use.

Let's pray

Father, teach us to become Zealous about our faith and those things that we are not sure of or do not know, help us to seek someone who does have the answer or can help us seek out the truth in the WORD so that we might be a better "fit" in all the we do. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
