Scripture Text: "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:1-3 (KJV)
I can remember when we used to sing the following chorus...
Heaven is a wonderful place
Filled with Glory and Grace
I'm Going to see my Saviour's face
Heaven is a wonderful...
Heaven is a Glorious...
Heaven is a wonderful place.
Oh I can still hear my Mama sing that song over and over again. She had that little spring in her step and a smile on her face and their was no devil in Hell that could stand against her. She was declaring her faith! She knew that when Jesus said,
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:1-3 (KJV)
Just KNOWING what the Bible says about Heaven is not enough. YOU'VE GOT TO BELIEVE IT AND RECEIVE IT - and let me tell you that if you don't you have already lost out on going there. To not believe in Heaven and to not believe in your resurrection is to not believe in His! (Meaning Christ)
Look at it again...
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."
Not just what He was saying but in what was going to take place. I am so sick of the preachers of today who are not facing the facts of the WORD and telling their people, "Hey, if you don't believe in the resurrection - you're lost already." Why? Because Jesus said so. What did He say there in John 11:25, 26:
"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
Who was he speaking to? Martha? What was the occasion? The death of Lazarus - her brother. What was her answer?
"Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world." (vs. 27)
You see, it took Martha getting her facts straight. She had knowledge of Heaven and she had hopes of this place Jesus had spoken of just prior to this event, but she was like the lot of us in this day and age. We are as the WORD tells us would happen in the last days... "increased with knowledge" and we have a tendency to forget who is Lord. We have a tendency to think that we're supposed to handle things with our understanding and not go back to the WORD and declare what the WORD says. We, as humans - yes, even Christian humans, try to work it all out on our own. Now, did you ever stop and think about that? Is it possible that's the reason we have a problem believing in Heaven. We don't seek the Lord and we don't seek His WORD but there we stand trying to work it all out on our own.
Oh but brother Wayne... the WORD says to, work out your OWN Salvation with fear and trembling."
Okay... what are you fearing and why are you trembling? It better because you're in the Presence of the Almighty God. Philippians 2:12 tells us to, "...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."
What He is referring to here is that since Salvation is of from and through Christ alone, the best of man's works are merely imperfect - and without Christ they would be in vain. Yet, as we work out our Salvation remembering that it is by His Grace and Mercy that we are saved, we are "apt" to be In His WORD and spending time in Prayer and Worship before Him so that we might live victorious lives. Notice I said we are "apt" to be in His WORD and in constant fellowship with Him - not that everyone is.
The Truth is, we tend to set down roots and find our real place in God when we are in fellowship with Him. It is through that fellowship then that The Holy Ghost whispers to our Spirit and makes the Bible and all of His promises "COME ALIVE".
Heaven is a wonderful place
Filled with Glory and Grace
I'm Going to see my Saviour's face
Heaven is a wonderful...
Heaven is a Glorious...
Heaven is a wonderful place.
Let's Pray...
Father, I believe in that Place called Heaven and I know that one day I will go there to be with you forever. I thank you for that promise and I claim it and declare it as my testimony that I know that when you come in the Rapture or should you call me home before the Rapture.. I will awaken in Your Arms and live there with You FOREVER! I pray this morning Lord for those who do not believe this and seemingly cannot believe it because they have become so deceived by the Devil and his many cohorts here on this Earth parading as men and women of God. Oh Father... speak to their hearts today and we claim them for you. Bring them in Jesus, bring them in. In Your Name I Pray, Amen.
