하나님은 우리에게 그분의 이름을 알라고 가르치기 원하십니다!

 하나님을 진정으로 아는 사람들은 다른 모든 음성들보다 그분의 음성을 알아듣는 법을 배웠습니다. 그분은 자신이 당신에게 말씀하기 원하시고 당신이 결코 보거나 들은 적이 없는 것들을 말해주기 원하신다는 것을 당신이 절대적으로 확신하기를 원하십니다.

최근 주님은 내가 아직도 내 영혼에 말씀하시는 그분의 음성을 듣는 것을 주저한다는 것을 나에게 보여주셨습니다. 나는 그분이 말씀하시고 그분의 양은 주인의 음성을 알아야 한다는 것을 알고 있습니다. 하지만 나는 그분의 음성을 듣는 내 능력을 의심했습니다. 내가 들은 음성을 검사하는데 온 시간을 들이다가 그것이 내게 너무 크거나 신비스러우면 이렇게 생각했습니다. “하나님이 이러실 리 없지. 하물며 마귀도 말할 수 있지 않나. 육이 말하기도 하고 거짓의 영도 말하지. 수많은 음성이 우리에게 언제나 몰려오잖아. 어떻게 내가 하나님의 음성을 알 수 있겠나?”

하나님의 음성을 듣는 사람들에게는 세 가지가 요구된다고 믿습니다.:

1. 하나님이 당신에게 말씀하기 원하신다는 흔들림 없는 확신. 당신은 하나님이 당신에게 말씀하고자 고대하신다는 것에 온전히 설복되고 확신해야만 합니다. 진실로, 그분은 말씀하시는 하나님이시고 당신이 그분의 음성을 알아서 그분의 뜻을 행할 수 있기 원하십니다. 하나님이 당신에게 말씀하시는 것은 결코 성경의 범주를 넘지 않을 것입니다. 그리고 그분의 음성을 알아듣기 위해서 박사학위가 필요하지도 없습니다. 당신이 필요한 것은 “나는 하나님이 나에게 말씀하기 원하신다는 것을 믿는다,”는 마음이 전부입니다.

2. 양질의 시간과 고요함. 당신은 기꺼이 하나님과 따로 떨어져 골방에 있고 다른 모든 음성을 잠잠케 해야 합니다. 사실, 하나님은 우리에게 온 종일 말씀하십니다. 하지만 그분이 내 삶속에다 무엇인가 세우려고 하시면 내가 그분의 음성 외에 다른 모든 음성들을 차단해 버린 후에야 그분의 음성이 다가오십니다.

3. 믿음으로 구하기. 우리가 진정으로 그분이 자신의 마음을 우리에게 전하실 수 있고 그분의 완전한 뜻을 우리에게 이해시킬 수 있다는 것을 믿기 전에는 그 어떤 것도(그분의 음성을 듣는 것을 포함해서) 하나님으로부터 얻을 수 없습니다.

예수님은 말씀하십니다. “너희 중에 아버지 된 자로서 누가 아들이 생선을 달라 하는데 생선 대신에 뱀을 주며 알을 달라 하는데 전갈을 주겠느냐”(누가복은 11:11-12). 다시 말해서 당신이 천부께 명확한 지침, 경건한 고침, 특별한 필요와 같은 말씀을 요청했을 때 그분이 대신 마귀를 보내 당신을 속이도록 하실 것이라고 일시적이라도 생각합니까?

어떤 아들이 자기 아버지에게 지침과 조언을 구하느라고 매일 밤 전화했다고 가정해 봅시다. 그런데 어느 날 아버지가 장난삼아 자신의 목소리를 흉내 내는 사람을 고용해서 전화를 받도록 했습니다. 아들이 전화했을 때 이 가짜 아버지가 얼토당토않은 조언을 하고 허위 상담을 해주었습니다. 이 아들은 갑자기 온통 혼란스럽고 마음이 상했습니다. 왜냐하면 지금 듣는 것은 모두 이제껏 자기 아버지에게 배웠던 것과 상충되는 것이었기 때문입니다. 이 사람이 어떤 아버지라고 당신은 생각하십니까? 그렇습니다. 잔인한 사람입니다! 그런데 바로 우리는 하나님이 우리에게 그분의 음성을 들려주시는 것이 아니라 하나님을 사칭하는 자의 음성을 들려주는 분이라고 하나님을 비난하는 것입니다.

하나님은 괴롭히는 분이 아니십니다. 마귀가 당신을 속이도록 허락하지 않으실 것입니다. 하나님이 말씀하실 때 평강이 뒤따르고 사탄은 그 평강을 위조할 수 없습니다. 당신이 고요와 안식의 자리에 있다면 하나님이 당신에게 말씀 하실 수 있다는 것을 확신하십시오. 그러면 결코 변함없는 확신을 갖게 됩니다. 당신은 하나님께 천 번이라도 되돌아 갈 수 있고 동일한 말씀을 받을 것입니다-왜냐하면 그것이 신뢰이기 때문입니다!

 

 

Those who truly know God have learned how to recognize his voice above all others. He wants you to be absolutely convinced that he desires to talk to you and tell you things you’ve never seen or heard before.

The Lord recently showed me that I was still wavering about hearing his voice speak to my soul. Oh, I know that he speaks and that his sheep need to know the Master’s voice. But I doubted my ability to hear him. I spent all my time “checking” the voice I heard, and when it was too big or too mysterious for me, I thought, “This can’t be God. Besides, the devil can speak too. The flesh speaks; lying spirits speak. A multitude of voices come at us all the time. How can I know God’s voice?”

I believe that three things are required of those who would hear God’s voice:

1. An unshakable confidence that God wants to speak to you. You have to be fully persuaded and convinced that God longs to speak to you. Indeed, he is a speaking God and he wants you to know his voice so you can do his will. What God tells you will never go beyond the boundaries of Scripture. And you don’t have to have a Ph.D. to understand his voice. All you need is a heart that says, “I believe God desires to talk to me.”

2. Quality time and quietness. You need to be willing to shut yourself in with God and let all other voices hush away. True, God speaks to us all day long. But whenever he has wanted to build something into my life, his voice has come only after I have shut out every other voice but his.

3. Ask in faith. We do not obtain anything from God (including hearing his voice) unless we truly believe that he is able to convey his mind to us and to enable us to understand his perfect will.

Jesus says, “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?” (Luke 11:11-12). In other words, if you ask your heavenly Father for a word—a clear direction, a godly correction, a particular need—do you think for a moment he will instead let the devil come and deceive you?

Suppose a son calls his father every night for direction and advice. Then one day the father decides to play a joke on him and hires an impersonator to answer the phone—someone to mimic his voice. When the boy calls, the imposter gives him all kinds of off-the-wall advice and phony counsel. Suddenly the son is absolutely confused and heartbroken because everything he hears goes against what he has learned from his father. What kind of father would you say this man is? Yes, a cruel one! Yet that is what we accuse God of being when we do not trust him to give us his voice but one of an imposter.

God is not a tease. He will not allow the devil to deceive you. When God speaks, peace follows and Satan cannot counterfeit that peace. If you are in a place of quiet and rest, convinced that God can speak to you, then you have an assurance that never changes. You can go back to God a thousand times and you will receive the same word—because it is trust!
