DRESS FOR SUCCESS
Put on the full armor of God (Eph.
6:13 NIV).
Years ago the popular book, Dress For Success, made an impact on the business community. It describes how dressing effectively can aid in climbing the corporate ladder. According to this book, every item of attire should be chosen and coordinated carefully to impress people and project the proper image. No matter what your calling in life, the author said, you can be more successful if you dress for it.
But the true principles of "dressing
for success" were written many years before this book was published. Given
centuries ago, they have been adapted to every society and culture since. What's
more, they involve success in the areas of life that are really
important.
The Apostle Paul described
the well dressed man in Ephesians, chapter six. Each item has an important
function. For success in Christian living we must put on truth, righteousness,
peace, faith, salvation and the Word of God. God has provided the attire
necessary to be successful as a Christian soldier.
A person dressed like this
may not make the "best-dressed list" but he will be able to fight the good fight
of faith and live victoriously.
