Entertaining God
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?—1 Corinthians 3:16
Entertaining God. What an awesome thought! You have opened your heart to the Creator and sustainer of life. His Spirit has established residence within you. Here are some ways to make Him feel at home. First, carry on a daily conversation with Him. Tell Him how much you appreciate His presence.
Share your concerns with Him. Second, listen to Him. Make sure your conversation isn’t one sided. Listen to His still, small voice in your conscience.
Listen to His encouragement and
instruction by reading the Bible. Third, keep your house tidy. Get rid of
clutter or unsightly things. Fourth, give Him access to every area of your
heart. After all, you’re hosting God!
Father, I praise You for coming into my life. I welcome Your presence, and I pray that I will always make You feel welcome—in my speech, in my attitudes, and in my actions. Amen.
