LET HIM CHANGE YOU
Repent, then, and turn to God, so
that your sins may be wiped out . . . (Acts 3:19 NIV).
A hopeless alcoholic
attended a Billy Graham crusade in
In the morning, from force
of habit, he reached for the bottle, but it was not there. Yet, there was no
feeling of disappointment. He phoned his psychiatrist and said, "You have lost a
patient. Christ has saved me and delivered me from drink."
The psychiatrist, deciding
he too needed help, went to the crusade and was saved. Later, the psychiatrist
and the former alcoholic testified together of the saving power of
Christ.
Not every conversion is so
dramatic. I was converted in my teens. I had never experimented with drugs or
tasted alcohol. I lived at home and obeyed my parents, at least reasonably well.
I was probably regarded as a good boy. When I was saved, my outward lifestyle
changed very little - but it was no less real in terms of the change in my
heart. I have been changing from that day on.
Life response: "Thank You, Lord, that you changed me and that You are still changing me."
