GOD OF THE SECOND
CHANCE
The pot he was shaping . . . was
marred . . . so the potter formed it into another pot . . .
(Jer. 18:4
NIV).
He is the God of the second
chance. He lets us start over.
A young woman caught in a
blizzard was found frozen. Her rescuers couldn't even penetrate her skin with a
needle. But to everyone's surprise, she thawed out and lived! A second
chance!
A thirty-seven-year-old man
was released from prison after spending all his adult life behind bars.
Abandoned and neglected as a child, he got into trouble early and at age
sixteen, was the youngest person ever sent to Soledad Prison in
Most of us have had many
chances. God patiently molds and remolds us, offering us repeated opportunities
to choose the right way. We have been risen with Christ so that we can walk with
Him in newness of life. Like Lazarus we have died and been buried under a
mountain of sin, but by the resurrection power of Christ, we have been given a
second chance.
