These are the
men who divide you, who follow mere natural
instincts and
do not have the Spirit (Jude 19).
CONTROVERSY
HOW TO BE SAVED: everybody has an opinion and every
denomination has a convincing biblical explanation. This issue, along with
others, has divided churches for centuries, becoming a mark of distinction
between denominations, even dividing churches. A couple has accepted Christ and
is passionately seeking Him. Having a different church background, they are told
by someone in their current church that they must be saved again under their
doctrinal stand.
Imagine for a moment that your house
is burning. The fire truck arrives at your house. Quickly, you ask which route
they came to get to your house. As they explain, you emphatically correct them,
telling them of a better way to get there, that they should have made a right at
the stop sign instead of going straight. You then send them away, telling them
to come back your way.
That’s foolishness! You would just
be happy they arrived. Then why do we make such a big deal when we see someone
who has confessed their sins, accepted Christ, and is passionately seeking the
Lord? Who cares how they got to this point! Shouldn’t we rejoice that they are
heaven-bound?
Jesus is the Way! He’s provided
forgiveness and freedom from sin. He wants us to live holy lives. These are the
things that really matter! The rest will settle in
time.

It’s time to return to the foundations of Christianity!
