Problems

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;

he delivers them from all their troubles.

PROBLEMS

 

An old preacher once said, “I’ve got problems, you’ve got problems. All God’s children got problems.” Isn’t that true? Welcome to the human race! The issue, then, is not whether we’ll have problems, but how we’ll handle them. Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote, “When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, until it seems as though you cannot hang on a minute longer, never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.”

 

Great advice, isn’t it? I think many of us give up too quickly when the solution to our problem was right there, ready to be discovered and enjoyed. God’s Word tells us that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength (Phil. 4:13). It’s not our own strength, mind you. It’s His strength, which is ours for the asking.

 

Live It!

If you’re up against something that tempts you to give up, turn to Jesus Christ instead. Allow His strength to give you the gumption to keep going.
