Faithful followers

 

오늘의 묵상 (시92:1~15)

 

 

1. 가장 높으신 분이며, 여호와를 찬양하는 것은 즐거운 일입니다. 주의 이름을 노래하는 것은 행복한 일입니다.

 

2. 이른 아침에 주의 사랑을 선포하고, 밤에는 주의 신실하심을 노래합니다.

 

3. 십현금과 비파와 수금의 가락에 맞추어 주를 찬양합니다.

 

4. 여호와여, 주가 하신 일들을 듣고 기뻐합니다. 주께서 하신 일들을 보며 내가 기뻐 노래합니다.

 

5. 여호와여, 주가 하신 일은 참으로 위대합니다. 주의 생각은 너무나 깊습니다.

 

6. 미련한 자들이 그것을 알지 못하고, 어리석은 자들이 이해하지 못합니다.

 

7. 악한 자들이 풀처럼 쑥쑥 자라고 악을 행하는 자들이 잘 되는 것처럼 보이지만 그들은 영원히 망하고 말 것입니다.

 

8. 여호와여, 주는 영원히 높임을 받으실 분이십니다.

 

9. 여호와여, 주의 원수들은 반드시 망할 것입니다. 악을 행하는 자들도 모두 다 흩어지게 될 것입니다.

 

10. 그러나 주는 나의 뿔을 들소처럼 강하게 하셨으며, 내게 신선한 기름을 부어 주셨습니다..

 

11. 내가 두 눈으로 적들이 전쟁에 패하는 것을 보고, 두 귀로 악한 원수들이 도망치는 소리를 들었습니다.

 

12. 의로운 자들은 종려나무처럼 무성하며 레바논의 백향목처럼 울창할 것입니다.

 

13. 그들은 마치 여호와여 성전 뜰에 심기운 나무처럼 우리 하나님의 정원에서 우거지게 될 것입니다.

 

14. 그들은 늙어서도 열매를 맺으며 항상 싱싱하고 푸를 것입니다.

 

15. 그들은 "여호와는 올바르시다. 주는 나의 바위이시며 그분께는 굽은 데가 없다"라고 말할 것입니다.

 

 

 

 

 

FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS

 

 

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree. (Ps. 92:12)

 

    

My granny died when I was ten years old, but her life was my first introduction to a faithful saint of God. When I would spend the night with her, she would sit in her rocker in front of the fire in much pain, but faithfully praying for her family, friends, and missions. This really impressed me!

    

Mrs. Roper, my neighbor after moving to Table Rock, was the second big influence on my life. When we visited her, she would be sitting on her sofa with the church directory and her “Meet Your Missionaries” book beside her. Every day she faithfully prayed for these in spite of her physical problems; this was her ministry.

    

The latest faithful servant I've gotten to know is Dr. Rebecca Bibbee, a missionary to Indiafor forty-two years. As I've visited with her and visited “her country,” her faithful service has been so impressive! Her “children,” the ones she helped raise in the orphanage, spoke of her with such great respect, admiration, and love—a very faithful and dedicated servant.

    

What legacy and impression will we leave behind? Will those coming behind us find our lives faithful to Him? I pray that will be so, and others will remember us for the difference we made in their lives like those above, who made such an impact on my life.
