A bright future in christ

 

오늘의 묵상 (고전2:12~16)

 

 

12. 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 주신 것들을 알기 위해 우리는 세상의 영이 아니라 하나님께로부터 오는 성령을 받았습니다.

 

13. 우리는 사람의 지혜에서 배운 말로 말하지 않고 성령으로부터 가르침받은 말씀으로 말합니다. 성령님께 속한 것은 성령에 속한 것으로 설명해야 하기 때문입니다.

 

14. 성령에 속하지 않은 사람은 하나님의 성령에 속한 것들을 받아들이지 않습니다. 그런 사람에게는 이런 것들이 어리석어 보입니다. 그런 것들은 영적으로 식별되는 것이므로 세상에 속한 사람은 그런 것들을 깨달을 수도 없습니다.

 

15. 성령님께 속한 사람은 모든 것을 판단하지만, 자신은 아무에게도 판단을 받지 않습니다.

 

16. "누가 주님의 마음을 알았으며, 누가 주님을 가르치겠습니까?" 그러나 우리는 그리스도의 마음을 가지고 있습니다.

 

 

 

 

A BRIGHT FUTURE IN CHRIST

 

 

. . . that we may understand what God has freely given us. (1 Cor. 2:12)

 

           

PAINTED on THE CEILING of the Sistine Chapel is Michelangelo's masterpiece.

 

Leaning backward, I entered the Chapel eager to catch a first glimpse of this breathtaking painting. Not looking where I was going, I almost stumbled into a woman studying Michelangelo's portrayal of the biblical world by holding a mirror in front of her. Occasionally adjusting the mirror, she inched along the hall, viewing the reflection.

           

Reflections of our world as reported in the media disturb us, test our faith, and may cause us to fear the future.

           

Yet we need not fear if we “understand what God has freely given us.” Paul told us that discernment of spiritual things comes through the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. Since the “man without the Spirit” (verse 14) cannot understand, he may despair. But when we accept what God is freely giving us, the outlook brightens. God has given His Son to redeem us, He has promised His abiding presence, He loves us without reservation, and He is preparing a home in heaven for us.

           

If our mirror is reflecting current world events, tomorrow may appear dark. But look up!

 

The heaven He has painted in His Word is awesome. As a believer in Christ, hold a mirror toward your future with Him—the reflection is bright!
