Are your blessings coming to a complete stop?

 

오늘의 묵상 (시1:1~6)

 

 

1. 행복한 사람은 나쁜 사람들의 꼬임에 따라가지 않는 사람입니다. 행복한 사람은 죄인들이 가는 길에 함께 서지 않으며, 빈정대는 사람들과 함께 자리에 앉지 않는 사람입니다.

 

2. 그는 여호와의 가르침을 즐거워하고, 밤낮으로 그 가르침을 깊이 생각합니다.

 

3. 그는 마치 시냇가에 옮겨 심은 나무와 같습니다. 계절을 따라 열매를 맺고 그 잎새가 시들지 않는 나무와 같습니다. 그러므로 그가 하는 일마다 다 잘 될 것입니다.

 

4. 나쁜 사람들은 그렇지가 않습니다. 그들은 마치 바람에 쉽게 날아가는 겨와 같습니다.

 

5. 그러므로 나쁜 사람들은 하나님께서 내리시는 벌을 견뎌 낼 수가 없을 것입니다. 죄인들은 착한 사람들과 함께 있을 수 없습니다.

 

6. 착한 사람들이 가는 길은 여호와께서 보살펴 주시지만, 악한 사람들이 가는 길은 결국 망할 것입니다.

 

 

 

 

 

Are Your Blessings Coming to a Complete Stop?

 

 

Blessed is the man who does not walk . . . stand . . . sit . . . (Ps. 1:1)

 

David The Psalmist lauds those who ignore the advice of wicked people, who have no interest in posturing themselves in the manner of sinners, and who steer clear of humiliating another person through mockery. Psalm 1:1 points out three ways we can bring our blessings from God to a halt, ways that slow a person down to a complete stop.

 

We are not running with God when we are “walking in the counsel of the wicked” (getting advice from those not living in the Spirit); we are not walking in godly innocence when we “stand in the way of sinners” (rather than running from sin); and we have stopped moving in a positive direction when we have decided to sit and passively criticize from “the seat of mockers” (in this we effectively disobey Jesus' second greatest commandment: “love your neighbor as yourself”).

 

Do not despair if you have slowed down in your run with God, because Psalm 1:2 calls us to leave the chair where we sit to judge others, walking away from a sinful posture, so that we can run a full sprint away from followers of evil. To move from a standstill to a sprint after God is to meditate day and night on God's law (the Scriptures) and strive to delight in them.
