Pursuing God's heart

 

오늘의 묵상 (시119:9~16)

 

 

9. 젊은이가 어떻게 그의 길을 깨끗하게 유지할 수 있겠습니까? 주의 말씀에 따라 살면 깨끗하게 유지할 수 있습니다.

 

10. 내가 마음을 다해 주를 따르렵니다. 내가 주의 말씀에서 떠나지 않게 하소서.

 

11. 내가 주의 말씀을 내 마음속에 두었습니다. 내가 주께 죄를 짓지 않기 위해서입니다.

 

12. 여호와여, 주께 찬양을 드립니다. 나에게 주의 법령들을 가르쳐 주소서.

 

13. 주의 입에서 나오는 모든 규례들을 내가 큰 소리로 선포합니다.

 

14. 나는 주의 법규에 따르는 것을 기뻐합니다. 재산을 많이 가지는 것보다 더 좋아합니다.

 

15. 나는 주의 교훈들을 읊조리며, 주의 길들을 깊이 생각합니다.

 

16. 나는 주의 법령들을 기뻐합니다. 나는 주의 말씀을 가볍게 여기지 않을 것입니다.

 

 

 

 

 

PURSUING GOD'S HEART

 

 

I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. (Ps. 119:10)

 

IF PURITY CAN BE CULTIVATED in a young man, then purity can be cultivated in all of us—if we live according to God's Word. With all the passion, depression, and confusion in a young man, it's mind-blowing that the psalmist can say there is any way one can be pure; but with God this is possible. We learn that it is done through mimicking the structure of life handed down to us in God's Word.

 

If we took the care with which we work to maintain the purity of our sons and daughters and applied it to our own lives, we could successfully live in integrity and lead the young through being led by God.

 

But in addition to purity, the psalmist's passionate prayer in this poem to God is to seek, study, obey, meditate and testify God's laws for the purpose of satisfying a desire to fully know Him and please Him by living within His boundaries. As we move closer to God's heart, our hearts will change to praise, rejoice, and delight in Him, and we can have fearless confidence that we are aligned with the best and perfect pursuit: the God we love.
