22. 젊은 사람들이 빠지기 쉬운 정욕을 멀리하십시오. 깨끗한 마음을 가지고 주님을 신뢰하는 사람들과 함께 의와 믿음과 사랑과 평안을 추구하기 바랍니다. 

"Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart."

 

   

 

WE KNEW WE WERE NOT allowed to be there. But the good fortune of discovering the door unlocked meant we had the university's gym to ourselves for a game of late night basketball. We ran, dribbled, and laughed our way down the hallways toward the court. Our joy was interrupted as we rounded a corner to meet an armed and angry security guard. one look at his ｅxpression (and billy club) informed us that diplomacy and reason would be futile. There would be no talking our way out of this situation. Simultaneously, the same idea occurred in each of our minds. In one motion we went from frozen fear to an all out sprint toward the door. We never slowed down until we were safely out of his reach and jurisdiction. By instinct we knew what to do when we found ourselves in trouble: Run! Paul encourages us to heed this same inner call when we find ourselves confronted by sin. "Flee the evil desires of youth," he warns. Rather than stand and fight sin, struggling against temptation, wisdom urges us to flee the scene and escape the situation. As we run from sin, we run toward holiness. This is the lifestyle of repentance. Turning from what is evil, we begin to move in the opposite direction, chasing after what is pleasing to God and encouraging to us.
