시편 34:11-22 (쉬운성경, NASB)
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Who is the man who desires life And loves length of days that he may see good?
Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.
Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and His ears are open to their cry.
The face of the LORD is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth.
The righteous cry, and the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
He keeps all his bones, Not one of them is broken.
Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.
"I JUST WANT TO SHOUT, You're wrong!' when people tell me to get over it." Those words from a thirteen-year-old boy speak not only for other grieving children but also for adults. Grief changes over time and may get less intense, but it does not go away. A grieving person can learn to accept loss and continue living, but it is not realistic to expect anyone to simply ignore it. Death is the most permanent loss, but people also grieve over many other situations that change their family lifestyle. Divorce, illness, abandonment, and loss of pets are all painful and cause broken hearts. Grieving centers offer ways to help children and families cope with their pain. Instead of counseling and therapy, the centers give peer support. They recognize that grieving people want to be valued and have somebody listen to them. Not everybody grieves in the same way. Teenagers do better with an adult to go alongside them rather than telling them what to do. Children and teens may act out in different ways, and adults go through depression. But with help, they can move on. In every case, there is a Counselor who knows exactly what to say and when to be silent, one who is always close to those who grieve. If you are grieving now, seek the comfort of your Heavenly Father. He is not far away.
