Solid Faith From Hard Times

히브리서 5:7-9 (쉬운성경, NASB)

 

7. 예수님께서 사람으로 계실 때, 하나님께 기도하고 도움을 구하셨습니다. 그분은 자기를 죽음에서 구해 주실 수 있는 분에게 큰 소리로 부르짖으며 눈물로 기도하셨습니다. 그리고 모든 것을 하나님께 맡기고 순종하심으로 하나님의 응답을 받으셨습니다.

In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the one able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.

 

8. 예수님께서는 하나님의 아들이셨지만 고난을 통해 순종하는 법을 배우셨습니다. 

Although He was a Son, He learned obeience from the things which He suffered.

 

9. 그래서 예수님은 우리의 완전한 대제사장이 되시고, 그에게 순종하는 모든 자에게 영원한 구원을 주셨습니다. 

 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,

 

 

AFTER onLY THREE WEEKS of basic training, the new recruit questioned whether his decision to enlist had been a good one. His body ached in different places every day, loneliness overwhelmed him every night, and the unending rules and orders barked at him seemed unbearable. But as he considered his suffering, he recalled the words his drill sergeant had spoken yesterday: "You may think what you're going through is not worth it," he said. "You think it's too tough and you don't like me ordering you around. But when you're under enemy attack, you'll realize that all this training and your total obedience to my instructions will save your life and those around you." The Old Testament overflows with records of the Israelites disobeying God's commands. Their rebellion caused them much physical and spiritual suffering, often though not always leading them to cry out to God in repentance. Suffering and hardship become times for us to build our faith by learning to obey God and trust Him to sustain us. Pain and difficulties are inevitable in this life. Even Jesus endured them. But the lessons and obedience we learn prove invaluable when our evil enemy attacks us, and they will help us to survive and be victorious.
