죄의 노예로부터 해방은 믿음으로 받아들여져야만 합니다

믿음은 아는 것에 대해 행하는 것입니다. 행동이 뒤따르지 않는 한 지식은 아무런 의미가 없습니다. 이스라엘 백성은 하나님이 그들에게 가나안을 거주지로 주시겠다는 복된 말씀을 받았습니다. 이 사실도 만약 그들이 애굽에서 노예로 남아있었더라면 전혀 무의미했을 것입니다. 그러나 성경은 그들이 “믿음으로 애굽을 떠나.....믿음으로 그들은 홍해를 육지 같이 건넜”(히 11:27, 29) 다고 말씀합니다.

이스라엘 민족이 가나안 지경으로 행진하여 화살로 일제 사격을 한 번 가하고 모든 적의 군대들이 죽어 쓰러지기를 기대한 것은 아닙니다. 땅은 그들의 것이었으나 그들은 한 번에 병사 하나씩 무찔러가며 차지해야만 했습니다.

이것과 내가 죄의 속박으로부터 승리를 얻은 것과 무슨 상관이 있을까요? 모두 일체가 상관이 있습니다! 그리스도가 죄의 지배하에 있던 당신을 해방시켰다고 선포하심으로써 죄의 노예에 대한 문제를 해결하셨습니다만 당신은 행동으로 옮기는 단계까지 그것을 믿어야만 합니다.

“네, 나는 그리스도가 죄를 용서하신다고 믿습니다. 그분이 주님이라고 나는 믿습니다. 그분이 내 삶에서 죄의 권세를 깨뜨릴 수 있다는 것을 압니다,”라고 말하는 것으로는 충분치 않습니다. 당신은 들은 것에 대해 머릿속으로 동의하고 있는 것이고, 믿음은 그 이상의 것입니다. 믿음은 자유에 대한 약속에 의거하여 나가 행동으로 옮기는 것입니다.

믿는 자들은 믿음으로 이세상의 악한 권세를 이깁니다. 진정한 믿음만이 유혹의 권세에 대해 당신이 자신 있게 대항하도록 도울 수 있는 유일한 것입니다. 절제는 오로지 믿음으로 해방되었다는 사실이 받아들여질 때에만 가능합니다.

“하나님을 사랑하는 것은 이것이니 우리가 그의 계명들을 지키는 것이라 그의 계명들은 무거운 것이 아니로다 무릇 하나님께로부터 난 자마다 세상을 이기느니라 세상을 이기는 승리는 이것이니 우리의 믿음이니라”(요한일서 5:3-4).

“근신하라 깨어라 너희 대적 마귀가 우는 사자 같이 두루 다니며 삼킬 자를 찾나니 너희는 믿음을 굳건하게 하여 그를 대적하라 이는 세상에 있는 너희 형제들도 동일한 고난을 당하는 줄을 앎이라 모든 은혜의 하나님 곧 그리스도 안에서 너희를 부르사 자기의 영원한 영광에 들어가게 하신 이가 잠깐 고난을 당한 너희를 친히 온전하게 하시며 굳건하게 하시며 강하게 하시며 터를 견고하게 하시리라 권능이 세세무궁하도록 그에게 있을지어다”(베드로 전서 5:8-11).

 

 

Faith is something you do about what you know. Knowledge means nothing unless it is acted upon. The children of Israel received the good word that God had given them Canaan for a homeland. That information would have meant nothing at all to them if they had remained in Egypt as slaves. But the Bible says, "By faith [they] forsook Egypt...by faith they passed through the Red Sea" (Hebrews 11:27, 29).

The Israelites did not march to the border of Canaan, fire one volley of arrows, and expect all the enemy armies to drop dead. The land was theirs, but they had to possess it one dead soldier at a time."

What does that have to do with my getting victory over the grip of sin? Everything! Christ settled the issue of slavery to sin by declaring you emancipated from its dominion, but you have to believe it to the point that you do something about it.

It is not enough to say, "Yes, I believe Christ forgives sin. I believe he is Lord. I know he can break the power of sin in my life." You are mentally consenting to what you heard, but faith is more than that. Faith is stepping out on that promise of freedom and acting upon it.

Believers overcome the evil power of this world through faith. True faith is the only thing that can help you stand up with confidence against the powers of temptation. Self-control is possible only when, by faith, the truth about being emancipated is accepted.

“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith” (1 John 5:3-4 NKJV).

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking who he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever” (1 Peter 5:8-11 NKJV).

 

 

信心就是行出你所知道的。除非知识被实践出来，否则，它毫无意义。以色列民接到好消息，得知神已把迦南地赐给他们为业。若他们留在埃及地为奴为婢，那资讯就一点意义都没有。然而，圣经说：「(他们)因著信，就离开埃及…因著信，过红海…」(来11：27，29)。

以色列民并没有迈向迦南地的边界，发射了一轮箭，就期望敌军全都倒地身亡。该地是属他们的，但他们必须「逐一杀灭敌军」，好将之占领。

这件事与我们胜过罪恶捆绑有何相关连？两者息息相关！主宣告过你已得蒙释放，脱离罪恶权势，从而解决了被罪奴役这个问题；但你必须相信，以致你能对此有所行动。

这样说：「是的，我相信主赦免罪过。我相信衪是主。我知道祂能在我的生命里破除罪恶权势。」是不够的。你会在头脑上同意所听见的，但信心不仅如此。信心就是因得自由的应许而跨出去，且因此而有所行动。

信徒能凭信胜过这世上的邪恶势力。真信心是惟一能帮助你满有确据，挺身而起，抵挡试探势力的。惟当我们凭信接受有关自己已得释放的真理，我们才能自律。

「我们遵守神的诫命，这就是爱衪了；并且衪的诫命不是难守的。因为凡从神生的，就胜过世界；使我们胜了世界的，就是我们的信心。」(约一5：3-4)

「务要谨守，儆醒；因为你们的仇敌魔鬼，如同吼叫的狮子，遍地游行，寻找可吞吃的人；你们要用坚固的信心抵挡，因为知道你们在世上的众弟兄，也是经历这样的苦难。那赐诸般恩典的神，曾在基督里召你们，得享衪永远的荣耀，等你们暂受苦难之後，必要亲自成全你们，坚固你们，赐力量给你们。愿权能归给衪，直到永永远远。」(彼前5：8-11)
