"A Holy Ghost Check-Up"

Scripture Text: "Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us". 2Timothy 1:13,14 (KJV)

I read just the other day that everything a pregnant woman takes into her body goes directly to her baby. Now get this... If she smokes, drinks, or takes drugs, she may harm or even abort her unborn child. Why we still see pregnant women drinking or especially smoking is beyond me. I know of one particular young lady who is taking psychotropic drugs (prescribed), smokes a pack-a-day and drinks at least once per week. None of these kind of warnings seem to phase her.

Perhaps you find all of that as alarming as I do, yet, have you never stopped to realize that everything that goes into your mind and body through your eyes, ears and mind goes into your "spiritual womb". What's worse, it can be as damaging to your Christian walk as the young lady I mentioned who was doing all the wrong things for her baby.

We've talked about it just this week - but If you "take in" and then harbor fear, doubt and unbelief, you will contaminate that miracle growing in your spirit. Let me say that again because this is important. If you "take in" fear, doubt and unbelief, you will contaminate the miracle growing in your spirit. In fact. Some people actually "abort" the miracle God has for them because they are "full of doubt and unbelief". They "let go" of God's promise and soon, they lose sight of their miracle.

If you go back to the book of Luke, Chapter 8, you will find that before Jesus raised Jairus' daughter from the dead, he told all of the unbelievers to leave ( verse 54). Jesus did that! The very SON OF GOD! Now, if you are "nesting"; "hoping for"; or "waiting on" a miracle, you must resist all fear, doubt and unbelief; and begin to feed your spirit with the things of God. Christian Radio; Christian Television; and there's nothing better than getting into a good "personal" Bible Study, and allowing God to reveal Himself to you on every page.

It is vital in this day and age to allow the Holy Spirit to conduct regular check-ups of your spiritual condition so that you can safeguard "Your" miracle. Remember, it is "His" gift to YOU.

Let's pray,

Father, reveal to me all of those unhealthy things that I put into my "spiritual womb" on a daily basis. Help me to eliminate not just the contamination that they cause my body mind and spirit, but help me also to block - by the Help of Thy Spirit, the harm they may bring to others and worse yet, to the Name of Christ. For it is In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
