"The Bread Of Life"

Scripture Text: "I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." John 6:33 (KJV)

Did you know that the name of Bethlehem which is the town that Jesus was born in means "House of bread"? In fact, His birth was foretold by the Prophet Micah over 450 years earlier. (ref., Micah 5:2)

The "House of Bread.." I can't think of a more appropriate place for God to introduce His only Begotten Son, Jesus "THE BREAD OF LIFE" to the WORLD, can you?

I remember an Old Testament teacher back in Bible College talking about the Manna in the wilderness and how it was something that couldn't be stored up as it would lose it properties. She told us how it has since then been something that has been widely used as a Digestive healing agent. She said that the scientists have proven that it was nothing more than a mixture of Coriander seed and Cilantro  supernaturally mixed into a meal.

Now think about that for a moment... the manna which fell in the wilderness couldn't be stored or kept to meet tomorrow's need, but friend, when we partake of Jesus (The Bread of Life), we are continually fed, continually filled, saved to the uttermost, and satisfied for all eternity.

Listen friend... your favorite jeans may wear out, your money may for sure  run out and your hair may fall out - Praise The Lord! But Jesus Christ, the "True Bethlehem," the "True House of Bread," gives us life that is everlasting. "O taste and see that the Lord is good!" (Psalm 34:8).

Let's pray:

Father God, I have tasted and know that you are good. You were not just the Bread of Presence but you became the House of Bread for all who would believe on Your Name. Today I feast on the that bountiful supply which will always satisfy and I give you glory for your continued provision in my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
