"Forsaken? Neaver!"

by 복음과삶 2010. 6. 29.

Scripture Text: "How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me? (87) They had almost consumed me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts."
Psalms 119:84;87 (KJV)

Oh how I've been there and I know a few of you have too: several of your emails have born that out to me.

One of the first things we learn about life once we graduate High School and especially College, is that life's not fair. It's not what we thought; not what we hoped for; and certainly shoots low of our expectations.

While it is true that much of life is what we make it... there are those who are being wrongly treated and misjudged in this world today, and the Lamb of God will be the final judge of that wrong at the Great White Throne Judgment.

But look at what David is saying here and let's see how this fits you and I today. He says,

How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me? (87) They had almost consumed me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts."
Psalms 119:84;87 (KJV)

What David is saying here is that His enemies had almost destroyed his good name, wasted his substance, took away his crown and kingdom, and even his life as he once knew it; his soul dwelt in silence all the day and night; they had almost cast him down to the ground, and sought out to leave  him there... because David repented of his Sin and God did not allow him to die. (2 Samuel 12:13)

Oh listen to me here this morning brothers and sisters... David's enemies did all of these things to him here on earth; yet they could not lay hold on anything that belonged to him up in heaven. Not his name - which was written in the Lamb's book of life; nor his riches or inheritance there as a child of God; his crown of Glory - laid up in heaven and waiting for him there - a crown that shall never fade; nor his promise of eternal life. ARE YOU GETTING THIS?

NO MATTER WHAT YOU AND I GO THROUGH TODAY... THEY MAY REPOSSESS YOUR CAR; FORECLOSE on YOUR HOME; SMEAR YOUR GOOD NAME; AND EVEN PUT YOU THROUGH A MEAN BANKRUPTCY... BUT THEY CAN'T TOUCH YOUR STUFF! DID YOU HEAR ME? THEY CAN'T TOUCH WHAT'S ALREADY LAID UP FOR YOU IN HEAVEN WHERE MOTHS AND RUST CANNOT CORRUPT. (ref., Matt 6:19)

Why? Because if you truly love God you will have laid up for yourself treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: and with your treasure in heaven - so will your heart be on the things of Heaven - even while living here on Earth.

Today, forsake not the Precept of God's Word and He will not forsake you.

Let's pray.

Father, You have done great things n my life, but the greatest thing you have ever done, is to send your Son Jesus to die on the cross to forgive me of my sin. My life and my body are still in this WORLD Father, but my HOPE and my Treasure, is in that WORLD to come. That city where there will be no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for YOUR glory will light it, and the Lamb is the light thereof." I give You Glory and Praise for that blessed Hope today Father; not just for me and for the whosoever will. In Jesus' Name, I Pray, Amen.
