영적인 것은 복제 불능입니다.

이곳 뉴욕시의 거리에서는 로렉스 시계를 15불에 살 수 있습니다. 뉴욕 사람들 모두가 알다시피 이 시계들은 진짜 로렉스가 아닙니다. 다만 진짜를 모방한 싸구려 모조품입니다.

요즘은 거의 모든 것의 복제품이 있는 듯합니다. 하지만 복제 불가능한 것이 한 가지 있는데 그것은 진정한 영성입니다. 진실로 영적인 것은 아무것도 복사될 수 없습니다. 주님이 그분이 손수 하신일은 알아보시고 그분의 신성한 작업을 인간이 모방한 것을 용납지 않을 실 것입니다. 왜 그럴까요? 진실로 영적인 것을 인간이 복사한다는 것은 불가능하기 때문입니다. 그것은 오직 성령의 역사로만 가능합니다. 그분은 자신의 백성안에서 새로운 일을 하시면서 항상 일하고 계십니다. 우리로서는 그 일을 재생해낼 방도가 없습니다.

현대 종교의 큰 오류가 이것입니다. 단지 성경지식과 성경의 원리들을 사람에게 나누어주면 그들이 영적이 될 것이라고 생각합니다. 하지만 사실은 어느 누구도, 어떤 기구도 사람 안에 영성을 만들어 낼 능력이 없습니다. 오로지 성령만이 하십니다.

우리 안에서 하나님의 영이 하시는 일은 눈에 거의 보이지 않습니다. 그렇기 때문에 진실로 영적인 사람들은 성령의 사역에 대해 겉으로 드러나는 증거를 찾으려고 하지 않습니다. 바울은 “우리가 주목하는 것은 보이는 것이 아니요 보이지 않는 것이니”(고후4:18).

이 구절의 문맥상 바울은 고통과 시련에 대해 이야기 하고 있습니다. 그는 이렇게 말합니다. “성령 외에는 아무도 우리가 당면한 모든 일을 알지 못한다. 혹독한 시련 한 가운데, 바로 여기가 진정한 영성이 발현되는 곳이다.”

하나님의 영이 인도하시는 대로 순복하는 사람들, 즉 주님이 자신들안에 무엇인가 만들어내고 계신다고 확신하며 시련을 직면하는 사람들은 혹독한 시련에서 굳건한 믿음을 가지고 벗어나옵니다. 그리고 인생에서 모든 것이 순조로웠을 때 보다 그들의 고난의 시기에 성령께서 더욱 많이 가르쳐주셨다고 증언합니다.

내가 주님과 동행한 세월동안, 순조로웠던 시기에 내 영성이 증가된 적은 거의 없었습니다.도리어, 내가 성령이 허락하신 모든 역경, 고뇌, 시험을 견뎌낼 때 증가되었습니다.

바울은 믿음의 길을 가던 어떤 지점에서 이렇게 말했습니다. “오직 성령이 각 성에서 내게 증언하여 결박과 환난이 나를 기다린다 하시나”(행20:21-11 참조). 진정으로 바울의 전 생애에 걸쳐 그의 시련은 결코 완화된 적이 없었습니다. 계속 이어졌습니다.

“우리가 잠시 받는 환난의 경한 것이 지극히 크고 영원한 영광의 중한 것을 우리에게 이루게 함이니”(고후4;17). 바울에 의하면 우리의 시련과 어려움은 우리 안에 영원한 가치를 생산해냅니다. 그는 말합니다. “지상에서 우리가 겪는 고통은 아마 전 생애에 걸쳐 계속 될 것이다 하지만 영원에 비하면 그것은 다만 잠시일 뿐이다. 이제 우리가 시련을 견디고 있는 동안 하나님은 우리 안에 영원히 지속될 그분의 영광에 대한 계시를 생산해 내고 계신다.”

 

 

Here on the streets of New York City, you can buy a Rolex watch for fifteen dollars. As every New Yorker knows, these watches aren't truly Rolexes. They are simply "knock-offs"—cheap copies of the original.There seems to be a duplicate for just about everything today. But there is one thing that cannot be duplicated and that is true spirituality. Nothing that is truly spiritual can be copied. The Lord recognizes the work of his own hands—and he won't accept a man-made duplication of any of his divine workings. Why? Because it's impossible for man to duplicate what is truly spiritual. That is the work of the Holy Spirit alone. He's constantly at work doing something new in his people. And there is no possible way for us to reproduce that work.

This is the big mistake of modern religion. We think if we merely impart knowledge of the Scriptures and biblical principles to people, they'll become spiritual. But the fact remains—no person or institution has the power to produce spirituality in someone. only the Holy Ghost does that.

Very little of the work God's Spirit does in us can be seen. This is why truly spiritual people rarely look for outward evidence of his work. Paul says, "We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen" (2 Corinthians 4:18).

In the context of this passage, Paul is speaking of sufferings and afflictions. He saying, "No one knows all the things we face, except the Holy Spirit. And this is where true spirituality is manifested—in the crucible of suffering."

Those who submit to the leading of God's Spirit—who face their afflictions confident that the Lord is producing something in them—emerge from their crucible with strong faith. And they testify that the Spirit taught them more during their suffering than when all was well in their lives.

In all my years of walking with the Lord, I've rarely seen an increase in my spirituality during good times. Rather, any such increase usually took place as I endured hard places, agonies, testings—all of which the Holy Ghost allowed.

At one point in his walk of faith, Paul said, "The Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me that bonds and afflictions await me" (see Acts 20:21–22). Indeed, throughout Paul's entire life, his afflictions never let up. They just kept coming.

"Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory" (2 Corinthians 4:17). According to Paul, our afflictions and difficulties produce eternal values in us. He's saying, "The suffering we go through on this earth will probably last our whole lifetime. But that's only momentary compared to eternity. And right now, as we endure afflictions, God is producing in us a revelation of his glory that will last forever."

 

 

你可以在纽约市的街道上以十五块美元买到一个劳力士手錶。每个纽约市民都知道，这些手錶都不是正货。它们只不过是一些「冒牌货」 -- 一些便宜的膺品而已。今天，彷彿几乎什麽东西都有假冒的。但有一样东西是无法假冒的，那就是真正的灵命。那真正属灵的，是绝不能模仿的。主认得祂自己手中的工作 – 而祂绝不会接受人为的方法来假冒祂任何属神的工作。为什麽？因为人不可能模仿那些真正属灵的事。这惟独是圣灵的工作。祂必在祂百姓当中不断动工行新事。而我们绝不可能複製祂的工作。

这就是近代宗教最大的错误。我们以为自己只要把圣经知识和一些圣经原则传授给人，他们就会变得属灵。但事实依然如此 – 没有人或机构能在一个人里面产生灵命。惟有圣灵能这样做。

神的灵在我们里面所动的工是鲜为人见的。所以，真正属灵的人很少会寻求祂工作外面的證据。保罗说：「原来我们不是顾念所见的，乃是顾念所不见的…」(林後4：18)

根据这段经文的背景，保罗实在谈及受苦和患难。他说：「除了圣灵以外，没有人能知道我们一切所面对的。而这是真正彰显灵命的地方 – 在苦难的熔炉里。」

那些顺服圣灵的引导 – 那些面对自己的患难而深知主正在他们里面有所陶造的 – 他们会带著刚强的信心渡过自己那些严峻的考验。而他们会见证说，比起在好景时，圣灵曾经在他们受苦时更多多教导他们。

在我与主同行的年日里，我绝少在好景时看见自己的灵命有所长进。反之，通常当我遭受困境、痛苦、考验时，这种长进就会发生；而这些经历都是圣灵所容许的。

在保罗信心生活的一个时刻里，他曾经说：「圣灵向我指證说，有捆锁与患难等待我。」(参看20：21-22) 的确，在保罗的一生里，他的患难持续不懈，不断临到。

「我们这至暂至轻的苦楚，要为我们成就极重无比永远的荣耀。」(林後4：17) 根据保罗，我们的患难和困难会在我们里面产生永远的价值。他实在说：「我们多半会终生都经历世上的苦难。但比起永恒，这只不过是短暂的。而如今，当我们忍受患难时，神正在我们里面产生祂所显示那永远长存的荣耀。」
