The right time

by 복음과삶 2005. 12. 19.

THE RIGHT TIME

When the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son . . . (Gal. 4:4 KJV).

According to The Guinness Book of Records, the most accurate and complicated timepiece in the world is the Olsen clock, located in the Copenhagen Town Hall, Denmark. The clock, which has more than 14,000 units, took ten years to make. The mechanism of the clock functions in 570,000 different ways. The celestial pole motion of the clock will take 25,753 years to complete a full circle, the slowest-moving designed mechanism in the world. The clock is accurate to a half a second in 300 years.

But even more marvelous than this feat of human ingenuity, are God's clock and calendar. The birth of Jesus Christ came with exact precision. There was a time ordained on God's prophetic calendar, and when that moment arrived, Christ was born.

God arranged for Christ to come when the Roman Empire had built a worldwide system of communication and travel. The world was uniquely prepared under this complex and efficient system to mark Christ’s coming and disseminate the gospel.

God is in control of the times and seasons of our lives as well.

Life response: I will trust the Lord to order the "seasons" of my life.
