Like a little child

 

LIKE A LITTLE CHILD

‘

Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.’
(Luke 18:17 NKJV)

 

As a child, I would say my evening prayers, jump into bed, and drop immediately and blissfully into restful sleep. I didn't listen for leaky water pipes or dripping faucets. I didn't hear malfunctioning appliances or worry about leaking roofs. Whether or not the mortgage payment on the house had been made didn't concern me in the least. I knew that my father took care of all those things.

 

Jesus said that when we become converted we must be like little children. one childlike trait that each of us must have in order to know the richness and fullness of eternal life is simple trust. As a child trusts his father's love and care, so we must become like little children and trust our Heavenly Father.

 

We should begin our day with a recognition of God's presence, trusting to Him the unknown events of the next few hours. We should end the day with thankfulness for His care and commit all worrisome concerns into His hands. Then we can lie down and enjoy a good night's sleep. Our Father is watching over His children.
