CHRISTIANITY ROSE
AGAIN!
Mary stood outside the tomb
crying
(John 20:11 NIV).
In 1948 a Romanian
Christian pastor was taken prisoner by the Communists. For sixteen years, he was
moved from one camp to another, brutally beaten, drugged and tortured. He
underwent brainwashing of the most diabolical kind. After years of imprisonment,
he almost reached the breaking point. one day, the prisoners were given
postcards to send, inviting their families to visit them. Their hopes rose as
they shaved, washed and were given clean shirts. But no one came to visit. He
did not know then that the postcards had never been sent.
That night the loudspeakers
blared, "Nobody loves you now, nobody loves you now." The next day he was told
that plenty of other wives had come to visit. They told him his wife was
unfaithful to him. That night the loudspeaker blared, "Christianity is dead,
Christianity is dead." He almost believed it. He thought the time of great
apostasy had arrived.
Then he remembered Mary
Magdalene, who wept and waited at the tomb of Jesus. He decided that if
Christianity was dead, "I will weep at its tomb until it arises again, for it
surely will."
The words written by that
pastor have come true. Christianity has risen again in
Life response: "Lord, help me to concentrate on the hope of the Resurrection."
