All on the same team

 

오늘의 묵상 (갈3:26~29)

 

 

26. 여러분은 그리스도 예수를 믿는 믿음을 통해 하나님의 자녀가 되었습니다.

 

27. 여러분은 모두 세례를 받아 그리스도와 연합하였으며, 그리스도로 옷을 삼아 입었습니다.

 

28. 그리스도 안에서는 유대인이나 그리스도인이나 종이나 자유인이나 남자나 여자나 차별이 없습니다. 여러분은 그리스도 예수 안에서 모두 하나입니다.

 

29. 여러분은 그리스도에게 속한 사람입니다. 그러므로 여러분은 아브라함의 자손입니다. 하나님께서 아브라함에게 하신 약속대로 여러분은 하나님께서 주시는 모든 복을 받습니다.

 

 

ALL on THE SAME TEAM

 

 

You who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ . . . you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Gal. 3:27–28)

 

Cleats laced tight, you step out onto the field.

 

Blazing white light from lamps high overhead gleams off the helmets around you, and as you look into the eyes of your teammates, your heart begins to burn.

 

There is something about standing within the ranks of a team that can infuse a person with courage. To look over and see an ally wearing the same uniform, the same colors . . . there is strength in that.

 

I remember standing in the end zone before a high school football game. To look out across that glowing green field to the giants on the other team can be intimidating. It is far better to look beside you to those mighty warriors on your own team. Witness each other's devotion and ferocity, and then stand tall together. Now you are ready to charge. Bring on the battle!

 

Paul's words to the Galatians in today's verse call their attention to the truth that these believers now had teammates.

 

When we put on Christ, we become one with all those in Christ. We should no longer stand alone. We should stand as one, for our identity is not what it was. We are in Him and He in us. Are we living as though we are on the same team?
