에베소서 3:6-9 (쉬운성경, NASB)

 

6. 그 비밀이란 바로 이방인들도 유대인들과 마찬가지로, 하나님께서 그의 자녀들을 위해 예비해 두신 것들을 함께 상속받을 수 있다는 것입니다. 이방인들로 유대인과 함께 한 몸을 이루는 지체가 되었기 때문에 예수 그리스도 안에서 하나님께서 약속하신 것을 함께 누리게 되었습니다. 이것이야말로 하나님께서 이방인들에게 주신 기쁜 소식이 아니겠습니까!

to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,

 

7. 하나님의 크신 능력과 특별한 은혜로, 나는 이 기쁜 소식을 전하는 일꾼이 되었습니다. 

of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God's grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.

 

8. 나는 지극히 보잘것 없는 그리스도인 중에 하나였으나, 하나님께서는 내게 능력과 재능을 주셔서 그리스도를 믿음으로써 누리게 될 부요함을 이방인들에게 전하게 하셨습니다. 이 복음의 부요함은 말로 다 표현하기 힘들 만큼 크고도 놀랍습니다. 

  To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,     

 

9. 이뿐 아니라, 하나님께서는 나에게 만물을 창조하신 분, 곧 하나님 안에 숨겨진 진리에 관한 계획을 모든 사람에게 전할 임무도 맡기셨습니다. 

 and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things;

 

 

 

 FOR CENTURIES archaeologists were baffled by Egyptian hieroglyphics. They appeared to be nothing but strange pictures painted on stone walls. Then in 1799, the Rosetta Stone was discovered by the French. This ancient artifact, created in 196 B.C., was the key to unlocking the mystery of the hieroglyphics because it included that form of writing along with several other known languages. Using the stone as a guide, the meaning of the strange pictures became clear. Centuries of history that had been staring archeologists in the face came instantly to life. To those who don't follow Christ, He is a mystery. As the Apostle Paul put it, "We preach Christ crucified . . . foolishness to the Gentiles" (1 Cor. 1:23). Maybe they don't understand why Jesus had to die, or perhaps they have misconceptions of God. There are many reasons why a person might fail to see Christ clearly. As Christ-followers, we can be a Rosetta Stone for people desperately trying to understand God. As we represent Christ faithfully to the world, truth may come alive for them. And this understanding could be the first step toward salvation. Are unsaved people asking you questions about God? Answer them as best you can. More important, live a life that reflects that grace and beauty of Jesus Christ. Let Christ be seen in you.
