The Ways of God

 오늘의 말씀

 

시편 25:1-5 (쉬운성경, NASB)

 

1. 여호와여, 내 영혼이 주를 바라봅니다.

To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul.

 

2. 오 나의 하나님, 내가 주를 굳게 믿습니다. 내가 부끄러움을 당하지 않게 하시고, 원수들이 내게 으스대지 못하게 해 주소서. 

O my God, in You I trust, Do not let me be ashamed; Do not let my enemies exult over me.

 

3. 주님께 희망을 두고 사는 사람은 누구도 부끄러움을 당하지 않을 것입니다. 그러나 까닭없이 함부로 배신하는 자들은 부끄러움을 당할 것입니다. 

 Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed; Those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.     

 

4. 여호와여, 주의 길을 보여 주시고, 내가 가야 할 길을 가르쳐 주소서. 

 Make me know Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.

 

5. 주의 진리를 따라 나를 인도하시고 가르쳐 주소서. 왜냐하면 주님은 나를 구원하시는 하나님이시기 때문입니다. 내가 종일토록 주님을 믿고 바라봅니다. 

 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.

 

 

 "YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING YOUR son's laundry," Laura told me. Although we had been friends for years, when Laura suddenly became critical of many things I did, even the Bible translation I used, I considered breaking off our friendship. Who needs a friend like this? I thought. But one Sunday as I stood in church worshiping, I felt impressed to take Laura a loaf of homemade bread. No way! I don't want to be kind to someone who treats me badly. Yet, as I prayed about our friendship, the thought to bring her bread returned. When I showed up at my friend's door with the bread in hand, our friendship began to heal. The psalmist, David, longed to know God's ways, and believers today, too, want to understand His righteous paths. However, many times we find His ways are different than ours. Here are some principles for understanding the ways of God: (1) Have a sincere desire to be led by God; (2) pray, asking God to shine His light on your situation; (3) read His Word with an open mind; (4) wait on God for the answer. Be aware, however, Jesus followed His Father's path perfectly and it meant a cross. God wants to teach us how to handle our dilemmas using biblical principles. Although His ways won't always make sense to us, His methods are guaranteed successful.
